So, since we didn't have any bananas in the house and she was having trouble getting the small Gerber puffs into her mouth, I scrambled her up an egg and let her try it. She seemed to like it quite a bit and was definitely very into feeding it to herself.

The next evening, we had a great visit with Lizzie and Carol Stewart. Anne saw us eating some ritz crackers and dip and wanted to try some for herself. She ate 3 whole Ritz and didn't spill any (much to the dismay of her puppy dogs).

Finally on Sunday we took a trip to Target and invested in some Gerber "crunchies" in the garden vegetable dip flavor and "wagon wheels" in apple cinnamon flavor. Not willing to feed my daughter anything nasty, I tasted them first to make sure they weren't gross. The wagon wheels were good, but the garden vegetable crunchies are DELICIOUS! If they weren't so pricey, I'd totally buy them as snack foods for us. YUM! As you can see, Anne enjoyed them too while eating her usual dinner of mixed grain cereal with pureed vegetables.

So, despite the fact that Anne has no teeth and doesn't show any signs of getting them any time soon, she is definitely ready for some big girl food. Feel free to send suggestions of delicious and nutritious finger foods for us to try. Upcoming on the menu: mashed bananas, avocados, and creamed spinach.
